Improved Media Management in TinaCMS Integration
Announcing a significant update to media management with TinaCMS I’ve been working on for the past few nights which focuses on a more efficient and user-friendly media management experience. This update is designed to streamline the process of uploading and managing images in my posts, a task that, until now, has been quite cumbersome.
What’s new?
- Bulk Image Upload: Goodbye to the tedious process of uploading and adding images one by one. My new mobile-friendly custom field component allows me to upload multiple images simultaneously without passing through the built-in media manager, saving precious time and effort.
- Image Optimization: With the integration of the compressors library, I now automatically optimize the image dimensions and file sizes before uploading. This is particularly helpful for handling large files from devices like my iPhone 12 Pro, ensuring a smaller repository size and faster deployment without compromising image quality. Example.
- Correct Image Orientation: Also, this component corrects the orientation issue (Finally!) where images taken in portrait mode would incorrectly display in the landscape mode.
- Grid Layout for Easy Viewing: All uploaded images are now displayed in a user-friendly responsive grid layout. This visual arrangement provides a clear overview of the media, making it easier to manage.
- Drag-and-Drop Reordering: Courtesy of the dndkit library, I can effortlessly reorder images. Just drag and drop to rearrange them according to my preference.

This update significantly improves the backend experience of managing media on my website. While these changes are not directly visible to my visitors, they will enable me to share my experiences more vividly and efficiently.
